- Get Specific. Use keywords specific to your location and your niche. It is even better if some of these keywords are found in your domain but don’t make it too long. If you search for “Web Consultant Cape Town” for example, you won’t find me until page 2 but if you search for “Web Consultant Southern Suburbs” – There I am!
- Links to your website are still important. Google still sees them as signs of popularity and trust; the more inbound links you have to your website, the greater chance you have of ending up at the top of the search results. Start networking online!
- Register your business with local listings or other appropriate websites. If you offer a service to a specific area, add your listing to the local website (most areas now have a website). If you are registered with a specific group or council, make sure your website is included in the listing online.
