Logging in to your website’s administration panel / back office.
Once your website is complete, you will receive the login details to login to the “back end” of your website. Here you will be able to make changes to the “front end” (what your clients see) part of the website.
It will look something like the image below:
The Parts of your website.
Your website has two main parts. Pages and Posts. Posts are listed one beneath the other in a blog-like structure and usually used for…you guessed it…your blog. Pages are all the other pages and each page shows only its own information. It may sound confusing, but if you understand this small piece of information, it will be a great help! Posts are usually added to (filed in) categories so you can keep related topics together.
Adding a new page or post
Adding a new page and adding a new post are very similar. On the left hand side of your screen you will see Posts, Media, Links, Pages, etc. To add a new post (or page), click “Add New”.
The following screen will appear:
Add the title of your post or page. Don’t make it too long. In the box below enter the text/content you would like to add. To add a image, video or pdf file; use the icons above the box. See image below:
Once you have completed your post (or page), you will need to publish it. Once published, you clients will be able to see the post/page. On the right-hand side of your screen, click Publish (or Schedule for a future date). You can also change various other things, such as the date. See image below:
Come back soon. We will be adding more information!
